Title: | Ecoprint nightie reconstructed as a dress |
---|---|
Date: | May 2022 |
Original Size: | 36 cm bust |
Notes: | Dress made from an inherited nightie (cotton or linen), which I deconstructed and ecoprinted as part of the online ecoprinting course I did in summer 2021. It was reconstructed as a dress for the WSD competition in May 2022 (Make Do and Mend, or Sustainability) - to my great surprise it won. I then put it in to the Southwell MTF exhibition, but hadn't actually photographed it to add to the website. Unfortunately looking at the photographs, the dye from the original logwood blanket (see photos of deconstructed nightie fabric) has faded, though the ecoprinted leaves have stayed. This is a shirt-style dress, with an inkle-woven half belt in natural dyed cotton threads |
